We will conclude with a visit to the temporary exhibition by artist Magellin Santana, a moving collection of oil paintings depicting Inca children alongside their burial goods and offerings, inspired by discoveries made on various peaks of the Andes mountain range.

“Essence of Autumn & the Outdoors”: A photography contest that seeks to capture the spirit of southern Chile through the lens of adventure

As part of the most colorful season of the year, we are pleased to announce the official launch of the “Essence of Autumn & Outdoor” photography contest. This initiative invites amateur and professional photographers alike to capture the changing seasons and outdoor life in our region, reflecting a worldview deeply connected to the natural environment. The contest is organized and promoted by professional photographer Pablo Alejandro González Vera, whose life and career are centered on exploring the outdoors and the visual preservation of the landscape. As a Brand Chile ambassador through his Fine Art work, González Vera seeks, through this contest, to highlight the natural heritage and mountain culture that define his own artistic journey and his nature-centered lifestyle. A Partnership for the Region The contest has the strategic backing of leading companies in Puerto Varas and Puerto Natales, which have joined as partners and sponsors to promote this showcase of talent. Among the collaborators making this event possible are leading brands such as Lago Grey, Hotel Cabaña del Lago, Rupestre Patagonia, Al Sur Expediciones, Fiordos del Sur, Tour Express, Tatoo, and Patagonia, offering exclusive prizes that celebrate the essence and untamed spirit of Southern Chile and Chilean Patagonia. Categories to inspire the creative eye Participants may submit their works in three categories designed to capture the facets of the autumn experience: Autumn Landscape: Capturing the play of seasonal light in forests and mountains. Outdoor Action: Documenting the adrenaline of trekking and mountain life. Fauna and Micro-world: Focused on the details of flora and encounters with wildlife in the southern climate. “We want each image to be a testament to how nature transforms and how we integrate into it through adventure,” highlights the organizer. The quality of the entries will be evaluated according to standards of excellence, aligned with the vision of purist photography without AI intervention, upholding the authenticity of the image that characterizes the contest’s mission. Schedule and Participation The call for entries is now open and will accept submissions until May 20. Subsequently, a specialized jury will conduct the evaluation to announce the winners on May 31. This is a unique opportunity not only for the prizes but also for the visibility provided by the support of local business partners and the Marca Chile seal.
