Located along the coast of the Araucanía Region, the Araucanía Coast is a beer trail that invites visitors to explore different municipalities through their local breweries, combining brewery tours, dining experiences, and activities tied to the local culture.
Spearheaded by the Costa Araucanía Beer Brewers Association ( ), the initiative brings together a total of 21 breweries located in municipalities such as Carahue, Saavedra, and Toltén, among others. Operating year-round, the initiative offers a diverse selection of beers, ranging from lagers and ales to experimental brews made with local ingredients.
Collaboration and sector development
The network not only promotes tourism but also helps professionalize the industry. Through the association, its members have access to technical and sensory training, specialized seminars, and partnerships with academic institutions, thereby strengthening the regional brewing ecosystem.
“The Route stands out because it isn’t limited to a single tourist hub or specific area; rather, it integrates and connects breweries throughout the entire Araucanía Region, spanning the coast, the valley, and the mountain range. “We currently have a presence in approximately 40% of the region’s 32 municipalities, with a clear plan for territorial expansion,” said Juan Alberto Arriagada, founder of Cerveza Wild and spokesperson for the group.
In this vein, the leader explained that this destination “offers a diverse and authentic beer experience, where breweries coexist with beer patios, beer gardens, and restaurants, alongside others that open their production facilities to the public, offering guided tours, insights into the brewing process, and a celebration of local beer culture.”

"Marca Chile" Brand and International Reach
The Costa Araucanía Beer Route is part of the Made by Chileans program, which reinforces its position as a model of productive collaboration rooted in national identity. Its inclusion highlights attributes such as quality, innovation, sustainability, and collaborative work, positioning craft beer as part of Chile’s cultural and exportable offerings.
“Being part of Marca Chile represents recognition of our collaborative efforts and the value of the region we represent. It gives us a national identity that strengthens our narrative, drives us to continue professionalizing the route, and helps us build connections with other producers, trade associations, and tourism stakeholders at both the regional and national levels. At the same time, it motivates us to showcase La Araucanía by presenting our beer culture as an authentic experience, with a local identity and the potential for international reach,” added Arriagada.
