He has a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago, United States, where he received the Henry Ford II Award for best student and recognition from the Wall Street Journal in the field of finance.
He has more than 45 years of experience in the private sector, working as a senior executive in Chilean companies, leading their international expansion process. He has also held senior management positions in companies in France and Germany, driving their global growth.
In the trade union sphere, he served as director of the Chilean-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Chile), while also being an active member of civil society as director of foundations linked to education and public policy development.
In the academic sphere, he was a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

He was a professor in the ILADES/Georgetown University graduate program. During that period, he also served as a visiting professor at Duke University (1993), a guest researcher in the World Bank's Distinguished Scholars Program (1993), and a guest professor at the Central Bank of Peru (1992-1994). Between 1994 and 1999, he was an adjunct professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Chile.

Between 2013 and 2017, he was a member of the Advisory Board of DATA UC, an entity under the Department of Mathematics at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. In 2022, he was appointed advisor to CLAPES UC, the Latin American Center for Economic and Social Policies at the same university.

Then, between 2023 and 2025, he joined the board of NUAM Exchange, the holding company that controls the stock exchanges of Santiago, Lima, and Bogotá. For more than three decades, he has developed his professional career mainly in the construction, infrastructure, agriculture, and financial services sectors, participating in the creation and expansion of productive projects in different regions of the country. Much of his business career was linked to the real estate and construction group Ecomac, where he assumed executive responsibilities and later became president, leading the company's growth and the development of housing and infrastructure projects in various regions of Chile.

He was president of the Chilean Chamber of Construction in La Serena between 2021 and 2023, where he promoted initiatives aimed at strengthening investment and job creation. He also participated for more than a decade in the Industrial Corporation for Regional Development of Coquimbo, an organization dedicated to promoting productive growth and competitiveness in the Coquimbo Region.
