This Sunday, May 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the iconic former Ebner Brewery (565 Independencia Ave.) will open its doors to celebrate Heritage Day.

Through a joint initiative between the local Cultural Corporation and Mall Barrio Independencia, this architectural gem and historic National Monument will offer free guided tours that take visitors on a journey back in time. Attendees will be able to discover the secrets and cutting-edge technology of a factory that led the Latin American market in the 19th century, with the experience capped off by tastings, live music, and surprises.

As part of a joint initiative between the Culture and Heritage Corporation of the Municipality of Independencia and Mall Barrio Independencia, the National Monument will offer free guided tours to uncover the secrets of the factory that led the Latin American market in the 19th century.

For the third consecutive year, the iconic former Ebner Brewery will open its doors to the public on Sunday, May 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to celebrate Heritage Day, cementing its status as one of the must-see landmarks in the northern part of the capital. Located at 565 Independencia Avenue, this architectural gem—built between 1885 and 1888 by the German Andrés Ebner—invites the community on a journey back in time.


“We invite families to join us at this community celebration to
discover the cultural and heritage richness of this valuable space for reflection and
education about heritage and the city,” says Daniela Contreras, Head of
Marketing at Mall Barrio Independencia.
A journey through the avant-garde of the 19th century
Attendees can participate in 20-minute guided tours led by
expert guides. There, they will learn how this facility—which at one point employed more than
800 workers—revolutionized the industry with its mills and fermentation vats
, successfully exporting its products to various countries in Latin America
.
At the end of the tour, and as part of the celebration, participants will be able to
enjoy tastings and surprise gifts prepared especially for this
event.
Designated a Historic Monument in 1984, the former Ebner Brewery is not only a
preserved building but also a symbol of Chilean industrial progress. Its
opening represents a unique opportunity for new generations to
connect with the identity of a neighborhood that was once the country’s economic engine.
