Chile won first place in the Best Citizen Engagement category of the City Nation Place Awards 2025, thanks to the "Made by Chileans" program, which promotes the use of the country brand among companies and entrepreneurs throughout the country.
November 6, 2025.
The award was presented at a ceremony held in London as part of the 11th City Nation Place Global Conference, one of the most important events in the field of territorial branding, which brings together experts from five continents to share experiences and strategies for positioning countries and cities.
The executive director of Fundación Imagen de Chile, María Teresa Saldías, present at the ceremony, highlighted the impact of the recognition. "This award represents a national achievement. Behind this distinction there are thousands of stories of small, medium and large companies that, by using the Chile Brand, show the world the best of our talent, innovation and commitment. To be recognized by a jury composed of our own peers in the field of place branding reaffirms that we are on the right path".

He also valued the work of the institution's team, which promotes this initiative from the territories and amplifies its scope as part of the country's positioning strategy, based on national pride projected to the world.
Chile competed in this category with Estonia, the United States, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Lithuania, standing out among global benchmarks in place branding. The jury was composed of 16 international experts in territorial marketing, from countries such as Australia, Canada, Namibia and Turkey, and was chaired by Clare Dewhirst, director of City Nation Place.
Dewhirst valued the scope of the Chilean program, noting that the jury "admired the ambition of this strategy, which redefines the national licensing program under the name Made by Chileans, with a creative and people-centered approach that has allowed it to be opened up to more Chileans, with great results".
He also highlighted the role of Fundación Imagen de Chile in the articulation of a country narrative. "A great brand strategy requires commitment, passion and perseverance. It is a privilege to celebrate those who manage to connect what makes a place attractive to its residents, visitors and the private sector, ensuring that their communities thrive. Congratulations to the entire team for an exemplary strategy that is empowering more Chileans to share the national brand with the world."
Chileans making their mark
With more than 8 years of existence, the "Made by Chileans" program grants a free license to use the Chile Brand to companies, entrepreneurs and territories that project the country through their products, goods or services.
This license allows the incorporation of the country brand seal in different promotional media, strengthening the reputation and competitiveness of the brands both in the local market and abroad.
Since its creation in 2016, the program has grown from 230 to more than 3,000 licensees to date, across the country and across borders with ventures that proudly carry the country brand to cities such as New York or London.
"When a company uses the Chile Brand, it not only shows the origin of its product: it shares a story of value, belonging and pride. Each licensee is an ambassador that contributes to projecting a positive and authentic image of our country. Therefore, we invite all companies -regardless of their size or location- to join Made by Chileans and be part of this network that builds, day by day, the best version of Chile in the world", said Victor Palma, director of Strategic Alliances of Imagen de Chile.
