Fundación Imagen de Chile was selected as a finalist in the XI version of the City Nation Place Awards, one of the most relevant events worldwide in the construction and management of country brands. The institution will compete in two categories: Best Citizen Engagement, for the "Made by Chileans" branding program, and Best Communication Strategy in Economic Development, for the narrative and graphic identity created to promote the international positioning of Chilean green hydrogen.

In the first category, Chile will compete against initiatives from Estonia, the United States, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Lithuania. In the second, with projects from Denmark, the United States, Moldova, Puerto Rico and Australia.

"Being finalists in the City Nation Place Awards is a source of pride that transcends our own work. It is a reflection of the joint work of public and private actors who believe in the importance of projecting the country with a common voice to the world. These nominations are an example of the talent, innovation and collaboration that make it possible for Chile to have a prominent place on the global stage," said María Teresa Saldías Morales, executive director of Imagen de Chile.

This year's jury is composed of a panel of 16 international place branding and territorial marketing experts from five continents, including Todd Babiak (CEO of Brand Gold Coast), Nicky Toresen (New Zealand Story), Nur Özkan Erbay (Türkiye Brand Office), Jess Radford (Brand Tasmania) and Clare Dewhirst, director of City Nation Place.

This recognition is in addition to others obtained by Imagen de Chile in previous editions of the awards, such as the award for Best Use of Data in 2021, and the distinctions Highly Commended for the campaigns "Chile, Country of Women" and "We Care" in 2024.

The world begins with Chile

The "Made by Chileans" program promotes entrepreneurs, companies and products made in Chile, providing a seal of quality and trust that projects the country as a benchmark in various productive activities. Currently, the initiative is close to reaching 3,000 licensees who proudly use the Chile Brand in national and international markets.

Meanwhile, the green hydrogen communication strategy has allowed Chile to be installed as a global leader in energy transition, providing the world with a coherent narrative and a common identity for this new industry. Its narrative - the result of joint work between public and private actors - summarizes a vision: if it is green hydrogen, the world begins with Chile.

The City Nation Place Awards celebrate the best practices in territorial branding and this year saw a 14% increase in nominations, with projects from 28 countries. The awards ceremony will be held on November 6 in London, as part of the global industry meeting.
