Torres Patagonia and SKY Airline are joining forces to restore the trail to the Torres Base Viewpoint. After successfully completing the first 1.5 km stage, they are now calling for volunteers who wish to participate in an all-expenses-paid "voluntourism" experience in the heart of the National Park.

In an effort to preserve one of the world's most iconic natural destinations, Las Torres Patagonia announced the launch of the third edition of its conservation campaign, this time in strategic partnership with SKY Airline. The initiative seeks to bring together volunteers from across the continent to continue rebuilding the trail to the Mirador Base Torres viewpoint, a project that is already celebrating a historic milestone.
A milestone in sustainability
After years of intensive work, the organization confirmed the completion of 100% of the first section of the trail. Thanks to the support of more than 1,000 participants in previous editions, 1.5 kilometers of sustainable trail have been restored, designed to standards that minimize environmental impact and protect local biodiversity.
However, the challenge continues. The comprehensive project consists of three stages, and this new call for proposals focuses on addressing the next critical phase to ensure the stability of the ecosystem in the heart of Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Voluntourism Opportunity: All-inclusive
The partnership with SKY Airline reinforces the scope of this "voluntourism" program, offering those selected a unique, all-expenses-paid experience in Chilean Patagonia. Winners will not only be able to admire the imposing peaks and ice fields, but will also actively work to repair eroded terrain, marking the beginning of a new era of gently sloping, highly durable trails.
"The restoration of this segment is essential to preserve this iconic destination and ensure the well-being of its ecosystem," said officials from the reserve.
