The fourth edition of Frutillar’s “Música en Invierno” Comes to a Successful Close
The series featured two concerts dedicated to chamber music and the symphonic repertoire, reaffirming its mission to bring high-quality performances to the community and strengthen cultural programming during the winter season.

With a massive turnout and a warm reception from the audience, the fourth edition of “Música en Invierno,” organized by the Frutillar Musical Weeks Cultural Corporation, came to a close.
The event, held July 17–18, featured chamber music and symphonic performances, aimed at sustaining cultural activity in the area during the winter season and ensuring that local residents had access to concerts of this kind.
This was highlighted by Karina Glasinovic, President of the Frutillar Music Weeks Corporation, who emphasized the importance of this cultural project, which “aims to establish a year-round artistic program in the lake region during the winter months, making it easier for residents of the province and visitors alike to attend performances of this musical genre.”
The opening day took place at the Immaculate Conception Parish Church in Frutillar Bajo, where soprano Patricia Cifuentes and pianist Paulina Zamora performed a recital.
The program for the performance consisted of Baroque pieces by Caccini and Handel, works from the French tradition by Fauré, Latin American compositions by Villa-Lobos, and a performance of Gounod’s “Ave Maria.”
The second concert was moved to the Sala Tronador at the Teatro del Lago, where the Llanquihue Philharmonic Orchestra performed a symphonic gala.
On this occasion, the musical ensemble performed alongside the two soloists featured in the series to present a program consisting of pieces from the world’s musical repertoire.
The musical program for the closing day included Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, pieces by Handel, and Mascagni’s Intermezzo. The orchestra and soloists also incorporated 20th-century works into the performance, including a rendition of Gershwin’s “Summertime.”
