He is a language teacher at the Padre Esteban Gumucio school in La Granja, a popular municipality in southern Santiago, Chile. The school is located in the midst of difficult populations and its students often face needs of all kinds.

Eduardo Parraguez, 54, teaches boys and girls from fifth to seventh grade, that is, between the ages of 10 and 12. But in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic, after his long days of virtual classes, for months he doubled up and was the voice of a radio program that tried to replicate the link between the school and the students who remained locked up in their homes, with mobility restrictions.

She did it together with journalist Javiera Pastor, the other announcer of I learn at homethe cross-cutting distance education campaign, and supported by the work of a team of teachers from the Educational Corporation of the Archbishopric of Santiago (CEAS), the network of establishments to which her school belongs. In total, 131 programs were broadcast from Monday to Friday, between May and December, when the 2020 course ended.
