Alzheimer's disease treatment with gold nanoparticles proposed

A Chilean research team has developed a system for early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease using gold nanoparticles, which detects and counteracts the development of amyloid plaques, which are associated with the onset of this disease.

The work, published this week in the journal Biomaterials Science, was developed by the Faculty of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Chile.
