Visitors discovered the essence of our country: a modern, innovative Chile, deeply committed to global challenges.

After 184 days, Chile's participation in the Universal Exposition 2025 World Expo 2025 held in Osaka (Japan) ended with a positive balance. The national pavilion exceeded two million visitors - averaging close to 12 thousand visits per day - and consolidated the country's presence as a relevant actor in this global event, which brought together more than 160 countries and international organizations.

Since its opening, the space -coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ProChile- counted with the participation of more than 130 public, private and civil society organizations. More than 80 companies were involved in the twenty thematic weeks dedicated to strategic sectors such as clean energy, green hydrogen, sustainable mining, tourism, innovation and technology, food, creative industries, astronomy and resilience.

The final balance also highlights more than 300 meetings with key players in the Japanese ecosystem, seven technical seminars held in Tokyo and more than 20 institutional visits in the Japanese capital and Osaka, strengthening strategic ties and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

Chile's pavilion was also distinguished by the International Exhibitions Bureau (BIE) with the bronze medal in the "Thematic Development" category for modular pavilions (types B and X). This recognition is added to those obtained by the country in previous editions, such as Shanghai 2010 and Milan 2015, consolidating Chile's trajectory in this type of international events.

"The closing of the Chile Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 marks the end of a historic participation, where visitors discovered the essence of our country: a modern, innovative Chile, deeply committed to global challenges. During these months, we showed the world our cultural and natural wealth, the warmth of our people, the strength of our institutions and the advances that position us as a benchmark in innovation, sustainability and development," said Paulina Nazal, Chile's Commissioner General for Expo Osaka 2025.

One of the pavilion's main attractions was the "Makün, the Cloak of Chile", a loom of more than 240 square meters woven by 200 Mapuche women, a symbol of identity, cooperation and cultural diversity. The artistic proposal and the sustainable approach were highly valued by visitors and the specialized press, along with the cultural program that included more than 25 artistic groups and gastronomic activities that brought Chilean flavors to the Japanese public.

The pavilion experience also strengthened the international positioning of the country's image, achieving media coverage equivalent to more than US$1 million in advertising value and an estimated editorial reach of more than one billion readers in the global media.

In this area, Fundación Imagen de Chile supported international monitoring and dissemination tasks and was part of the thematic week "Chile, country of women", which bore the same name of the institutional sub-brand created to highlight Chile's progress in gender equity and the contribution of women to the country's development and international projection.

In the coming weeks, the pavilion's centerpiece, the "Makün: The Mantle of Chile", along with the cross-laminated timbers that support it, will begin their return to the country to be exhibited to the public at a location to be announced soon.
