Artificial intelligence is becoming one of the main gateways to information. That is why we wanted to understand what image of Chile these tools convey when they answer everyday questions about the country.

How do you view artificial intelligence see Chile?
To this end, we analyzed 200 responses generated by ChatGPT and Gemini based on 50 queries related to nature, sustainability, mining, food, and tourism—in both Spanish and English—to discover which of the country’s attributes, stories, and strengths emerge when millions of people search for information using AI.
In addition to the responses, the study examined the sources used by the platforms. 50.1% came from Chilean websites, while the rest came mainly from the United States, global sources, France, and the United Kingdom, reflecting a mix of national and international perspectives on the country.
First finding
AI highlights geography
When artificial intelligence describes Chile, nature is the first thing that comes to mind. The Atacama Desert, the Andes Mountains, and Patagonia are mentioned time and time again as the country’s main symbols. For AI, geography is what sets Chile apart from the rest of the world.
