  • "Cultivation Technology Module", from the Los Lagos Region, was the project that won first place, a recognition that includes a trip to Boston, United States, to immerse in the technological ecosystem of the No. 1 innovation and entrepreneurship region in the world.
  • Winners of previous versions of this award have been protagonists of international campaigns for Imagen de Chile.

On Wednesday, Los Creadores celebrated the grand finale of the 6th version of its "Talento Digital Escolar" Award at the studios of Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN), a milestone led by Fundación Kodea, where 16 regional winning teams traveled to Santiago to live an innovation and technology bootcamp experience.

The award, whose purpose is to make visible and promote the digital talents of our country and install early innovation in the school system, recognized 43 students and 16 teachers from all over Chile as creators of innovative solutions that can be replicated in other communities and have a high potential for scaling.

After the presentation of each of the regional winners and the deliberation of the jury, the first national place went to the "Cultivation Technology Module" project, from the Los Lagos Region, which will allow the entire team to travel to Boston, USA, to get to know the innovation ecosystem of Massachusetts and share their project with experts in STEM subjects.

Coming from Liceo Galvarino Riveros Cardenas and studying 2nd grade and 8th grade respectively, the brothers Vicente and Renato Naour, together with their father Claudio, are the authors of this project, whose main objective is to facilitate the cultivation of 600 seeds in a modular, expandable and programmable space according to the seeds to be cultivated.

Chile Creando Futuro

During this edition of the awards, Imagen de Chile was invited to participate as part of the institutions that recognized young students from the regions. "If every Chilean is creating the future, then so is Chile. And in that sense, Kodea's work is key in making visible the contributions and solutions that are born from every corner of our country, inspired by the different realities and local problems," said the director of Strategic Alliances of Imagen de Chile, Daniela Montiel.

"Today's youth face a future that will demand ingenuity and creativity like never before, and we hope these milestones will empower more girls and boys to drive projects that connect with today's global challenges," he added.

Winners of previous versions of Los Creadores have been protagonists of international campaigns of Imagen de Chile, which show the world how Chilean talent is creating the future. This was the case of Huemul Safe, a solution to help rescue endangered huemul deer in Aysén, and Can Reflect, a project to reuse beverage cans for agriculture. Both initiatives, by Chilean schoolchildren from Aysén and Maule, were part of the "Chile Creating Future" campaign,

The Los Creadores Digital Talent Award is organized by Fundación Kodea, El Mercurio, TVN and Regional Media and seeks to identify and give visibility to creative minds that develop innovative solutions using technology for concrete problems in their community and, in this way, install early innovation in the classroom.
