Monarch turns its panty factory to the manufacture of reusable masks with copper

This initiative of the Chilean textile company aims to maintain the labor sources of its workers, in addition to helping different organizations and entities that require this scarce product in the face of the spread of the coronavirus.

THE POWER OF COPPER

The copper yarn used in these masks contains copper and zinc in its intimate mixture. When in contact with temperature and humidity, it generates copper ions that eliminate 99.9% of bacteria and fungi. Copper is antibacterial, it does not lose its property over time, so it is permanently self-sanitizing. The antimicrobial activity of the fiber does not wear off with use and is not lost during washing. The only recommendation for the use of the garment is not to use fabric softeners.
It is important to note that Monarch is a pioneer in Chile in the design of socks and garments with copper. It was in 2010 when they launched the first Chilean socks with this fiber. A flexible copper yarn was created, resistant to wear, washing and economic, which led many Chileans to have access to the healthiest socks for daily use.
