Over the course of its eleven-year history, Ladera Sur has established itself as a key player in the dissemination of content on nature, the environment, and the outdoors, positioning itself as a leading voice in the conversation on sustainability in Chile. Founded with the goal of bringing nature closer to people, the platform has evolved from a digital media outlet into an ecosystem of content and experiences that integrates journalism, audiovisual production, and events.

Through its community, digital media, and in-person events, Ladera Sur has reached audiences in more than 120 countries. With over 6,000 published articles, 60 short documentaries, and events that have drawn more than 60,000 people, it has built an active community dedicated to appreciating the natural environment.

His work has helped raise awareness of the country’s diverse ecosystems—from the desert to Patagonia—positioning Chile as a showcase of biodiversity that is unique on a global scale. At the same time, he has successfully translated scientific and environmental content into accessible formats, broadening its reach and strengthening the connection between citizens, the land, and conservation.

“Ever since we started, in everything we do, we’ve sought to highlight Chile’s natural beauty, biodiversity, and people, bringing attention to the thousands of talented individuals, causes, organizations, and startups we see from north to south. We’re proud to represent Chile; we’re a country blessed with so many ecosystems, and we have a great responsibility to care for them,” said Martín del Río, director and founder of Ladera Sur.

The eyes of the world are on the hillside

This project has garnered international interest, establishing Ladera Sur as a platform with no direct global equivalent, and has even attracted attention in other Latin American countries, where officials are considering replicating a similar initiative.

In this context, the partnership with Marca Chile presents an opportunity to further build on this positioning, while also reinforcing a national narrative that highlights nature, culture, and sustainability as Chile’s distinctive attributes on the global stage.

“Ladera Sur is a strategic partner due to its credibility, reach, and ability to connect with audiences across the country. Its work helps organically amplify an image of Chile linked to nature, sustainability, and local identity, with an international reach,” said Víctor Palma, director of strategic partnerships at Marca Chile.
