From the End of the World: Scientists Study Chile's "Intact" Cape Horn

Over the next five years, temperatures will be more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

This could have irreversible effects on the polar ice caps, which, in turn, could have dire consequences for humanity.

More than 250 scientists specializing in the study of climate change have gathered at Cape Horn, in southern Chile, to look for ways to mitigate these effects.
