Located about 120 kilometers from Santiago, Viña del Mar is renowned for its coastline, beaches, and tourist attractions. In addition to these attributes, it boasts a vibrant sporting calendar that throughout the year features competitions and activities related to running, triathlon, and various beach sports, taking advantage of the city's unique geographical location, its proximity to the sea, and its distinctive geography.

This passion will find new expression on October 4th, when runners from various cities in Chile and abroad gather to participate in the Viña del Mar Marathon . The competition offers approximately 12,000 entries across distances of 10K, 21K, and 42K, and this year will have its new epicenter at Playa del Deporte (Sports Beach).

One of the new features will be the 42K single-loop course, which will allow marathoners to cover different areas of Viña del Mar and its coastline along the 42.195 kilometers. The 21K distance, meanwhile, will include timed rankings to help organize race paces.

Beyond running, the city boasts spaces and activities that take advantage of its surroundings. Playa del Deporte (Sports Beach), in the Las Salinas area, hosts disciplines throughout the year such as beach volleyball, beach soccer, beach tennis, surfing, bodyboarding, and calisthenics. In addition, it hosts triathlon competitions and the Sunday CicloRecreoVía, which opens up part of the coastline for cycling, skating, skateboarding, and walking.

The combination of coastline and hills expands the possibilities for other disciplines, from water sports and endurance activities to cycling, trekking, and trail running. In this context, events like the Viña del Mar Marathon allow a sporting competition to unfold in close connection with the territory and its landscapes.

With a call that brings together national and international participants, the race thus joins the calendar of activities that positions Viña del Mar not only as a tourist destination on the central coast, but also as a city where sport finds different scenarios throughout the year.
