Step 1 - In a small saucepan melt ½ cup of sugar over medium heat until a caramel is formed. Remove from heat and pour caramel into a baking dish, covering the bottom and a little around the edges. Set aside.
Step 2 - Preheat the oven to medium temperature (180°C).
Step 3 - In a bowl, mix the remaining sugar, eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Pour the mixture into the bowl over the caramel.
Step 4 - Bake 20 minutes covered with foil and 20 minutes more uncovered or until golden brown. Turn off the oven and let the dessert cool inside. Serve the roasted milk with caramel.
