Chilean cinema continues to cross borders. In recent months, a selection of Chilean films has premiered in the main film festivals around the world. And Chilean talent continues going farther.

The film "The Wealth of the World", a debut film by Chilean director Simón Farriol, will premiere in the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India and compete in the category Best Director Debut of Feature Film.

This event, which takes place between the20th and the 28th of November, is one of the most relevant and prestigious film festivals in the Asian market.

"The Wealth of the World" tells the story of the combatants of the Chilean independence wars of the early 1800s who tried to return to their homes from a terrain unknown to both.

Simón Farriol studied visual arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and screenwriting at the Escuela de Cine de Chile. In 2014, he premiered the short film "A Man in God's Land" at 2014 Cannes' Marché du Film Short Film Corner.
