According to the brand evaluation consultancy Brand Finance, in its "Inaugural City Index 2023" ranking -which places the capital city among the 100 best in the world- Santiago de Chile is the second best evaluated city in Latin America, after Mexico City.

The list is compiled annually taking into account aspects such as the best place to live, to work locally or remotely, as well as to study, retire, visit or invest.

Of the region, Santiago managed to position itself as the place with the "greatest growth potential", known for being a modern and cosmopolitan city. To this is added the attribute of "green spaces and leisure" thanks to the Andes Mountains.

"I am pleased that Santiago has been recognized as one of the best evaluated cities by this ranking. It is an honor to be positioned in the list along with other major cities in Latin America," said the metropolitan regional governor, Claudio Orrego, to Fundación Imagen de Chile. He added: "This recognition is the result of the joint work of the inhabitants, the private sector and the various levels of the State, which have contributed to making our city a modern, cosmopolitan place with a good quality of life. The challenge is to continue improving, especially in safety, beauty and equity. In addition, our Andes Mountain Range is presented as a great opportunity to attract visitors and position Santiago as a tourist pole".

In the ranking prepared annually by Brand Finance, they are followed by Santiago, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Buenos Aires. Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Buenos Aires.
