His Excellency the President of the Republic, José Antonio Kast, presided over the official launch of Choose Chile, an international branding platform that seeks to strengthen the country’s image abroad and promote its opportunities for investment, technological development, and economic growth.

The event was attended by Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna, as well as government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business associations, members of the academic and scientific communities, and representatives of multinational companies.

Choose Chile was created with the goal of establishing a shared narrative that will showcase Chile’s strengths internationally as an exporting nation and a destination for investment, innovation, business development, and attracting talent. The initiative aims to contribute to the diversification of the national export portfolio, boost strategic sectors, and promote goods and services with higher value added.

During the ceremony, the Secretary of State presented the platform's main guidelines, including its visual identity, content, and website.

In his remarks, Foreign Minister Francisco Pérez Mackenna emphasized that “the goal of Choose Chile is to contribute to the country’s growth by strengthening its international standing: to attract investment, business, technology, talent, and tourism, and to foster a more diversified, innovative, and higher-value-added export base.”

Along those lines, the secretary of state explained that the strategy will be implemented through two key pillars: attracting investment to strengthen the workforce and diversifying the country’s export portfolio.

“Investment builds productive capacity; skilled human capital operates that capacity and ensures its long-term sustainability. An investment without people to sustain it is like a plant that operates but does not grow,” said the foreign minister, emphasizing the importance of complementing the inflow of capital with the development of skills and knowledge.

Pérez Mackenna also highlighted the country’s commercial strengths and its potential to expand the presence of domestic products and services in international markets. “Chile knows how to export and has a solid foundation to build upon: a robust productive base, recognized standards, and preferential access to 66 economies, many of which are represented here today at this launch,” he said.
During the event, audiovisual material was also shown featuring testimonials from foreign investors operating in Chile, highlighting the opportunities the country offers.

One of the key announcements was the launch of the first Choose Chile Summit, scheduled for March 2027, an event that will bring together investors, technology companies, and international stakeholders to learn firsthand about the country’s production capabilities and investment opportunities.

The event, organized primarily by ProChile, includes a main session in Santiago featuring business meetings and bilateral discussions, as well as visits to projects and companies in the regions and a program for the international media.

Choose Chile 's proposal is based on three key attributes: the country's exceptional natural conditions; the capabilities and infrastructure that make it possible to transform these advantages into concrete opportunities; and the confidence provided by clear rules and stability for developing long-term investments.

Through this initiative, the government seeks to strengthen Chile’s international standing, attract new investment and expertise, expand national production capacity, and create opportunities that contribute to the country’s economic development.
