The Plagio Foundation, creator of the successful contest "Santiago in 100 words",
replicated in regions and abroad, contributes to the country brand through the creative reflection of citizens and their environment, and the expression of the territory's identity.
In a meeting held at the National Library, the coordinator ofFundación Plagio,
Soledad Camponovo, and the executive director of Fundación Imagen de Chile, Rossana
Dresdner, signed a collaboration agreement between both institutions, through which
will promote actions for the international and national positioning and dissemination of
contents that express the country's identity.
Fundación Plagio is a Chilean cultural organization with more than two decades of history,
that generates "transforming experiences through cultural initiatives of great scope
and democratic character". Since 2001 they have organized "Santiago in 100 words", a massive contest
that receives every year more than 50 thousand stories and allows citizens to become
aware of their heritage and local identity. An initiative that has been replicated in the
regions of Antofagasta, Biobío, Araucanía and Magallanes, and internationally in Buenos
Aires, Boston and Medellín en 100 Palabras.
"Encouraging writing and creativity in people is a transversal mission for
Fundación Plagio. It has been incredible to see how the En 100 Palabras project, which was born in Chile
more than two decades ago, has been exported with such success and good reception by people who
live in different cities around the world. With the dissemination of our initiatives we believe
that the image of the country is enhanced and with this alliance we hope to have new projects",
commented Soledad Camponovo, general coordinator of Fundación Plagio.
"The micro-story contest "In 100 words", written by any citizen, is a
space of privileged and authentic expression of identity of our territory, which allows
people to be writers and reflect on their daily life, heritage and identity
of their environment. We want these socio-cultural projects, which encourage creativity in such a powerful way
and make us look at ourselves, to promote the country brand in
the world" said Rossana Dresdner, executive director of Imagen de Chile.
Through this agreement, both institutions will work together on initiatives that will have
as an objective the dissemination and positioning of the country image through the use of these
citizen micro-stories and other related audiovisual and photographic material.
