Between January 18 and 21, a new edition of this event will be held, which annually brings together the most brilliant minds of the scientific world in our country to think about the future of our society and the planet.
Eighty national and international exhibitors will meet virtually at Congreso Futuro, the most important scientific event in our country, which has adapted to the global context and will launch a fully digital version this year.
The largest science, knowledge and innovation meeting in Latin America celebrates its 10th anniversary, bringing citizens closer to the brightest talent on the planet, encouraging reflection on global challenges and creating the future from its fields.
International speakers include Nobel Prize winners in Physics Didier Queloz (2019), Reinhard Genzel (2020) and Kip Thorne (2017), Nobel Prize winner in Economics Joseph Stiglitz (2001), futurist and transhumanist entrepreneur Martine Rothblatt and Lucianne Walkowicz, PhD in physics and astronomer at the Adler Planetarium. Also present will be Eli Pariser, author of "The Bubble Filter", a New York Times bestseller, in which he refers to the dangers of algorithms that select the information we receive on the web.
At the national level, the physicist and academic from the University of Chile, Jocelyn Dunstan, who together with a team of Chilean-US researchers created an algorithm capable of predicting the obesity of countries based on what their inhabitants eat, will be the main speaker. Felipe Tapia, researcher at the Max Planck Institute, who is collaborating in the development of a vaccine candidate against COVID-19, and Teresa Valdés, coordinator of the Gender and Equity Observatory, winner of the 2003 Elena Caffarena Award in the category "Woman Researcher in Science and Education", will also present.
This version will especially seek to reflect on how to inhabit uncertainty in the complex context in which we are living and contribute to the construction of a future and a more prosperous society for all.
