Chile is already experiencing the most important tourism event of the year, which already has more than 160 operators, experts and adventure lovers living experiences in the national territory.
The adventure is already underway in Chile. This Monday, the Pre-Summit Adventures (PSA), the first official activity of the Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS). This year, the main venue will be the city of Puerto Natales, in the Region of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, but the whole country will see action thanks to these PSAs.
Between October 6 and 12, 23 adventure tours will take place throughout almost the entire country, from the northern highlands to the southern fjords, in a journey that will allow more than 160 tour operators, agencies and specialized international media to experience first-hand the diversity and richness of Chile's tourism offerings.
These pre-tours are a unique opportunity to show the world the natural and cultural diversity of Chile, something that the Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo highlighted as "an immersive experience that will allow adventure tourism leaders to learn, on the ground, the enormous value of our territories and communities. From the highlands to Patagonia, Chile is presented as a living laboratory of sustainability, adventure and nature, reaffirming our commitment to a tourism that transforms and generates opportunities throughout the country."
The Pre-Summit Adventures will take place in the regions of Arica and Parinacota, Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Atacama, Valparaíso, Metropolitan, O'Higgins, La Araucanía, Los Ríos, Los Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica. Each itinerary was designed to showcase the best of national adventure tourism, integrating experiences of nature, local culture and sustainability, in line with the international standards of the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), organizer of the global meeting.
The national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, highlighted the value of these activities, which will be hosted by the country's regions. "These pre-summit experiences are not only a prelude to what will be experienced in Puerto Natales, but also a strategic showcase for Chilean tourism companies participating in the PSAs, which will be able to position their products and services in international markets and establish key commercial links with world industry leaders," he said.
