Melon with Wine

  • 1 ripe tuna melon
  • ½ liter of white wine
  • Granulated white sugar to taste.
  • Step 1 - Cut a thin layer at one end of the melon, without going through the flesh, to support the melon.
  • Step 2 - On the other end of the melon, cut a lid and through the hole, with the help of a large spoon, hollow out the melon, scraping the pulp. Be careful that the skin is not too thin.
  • Step 3 - Blend part of the pulp with 300 cc of wine and sugar to taste. Chop the rest of the pulp into large cubes. Put everything inside the melon and chill in the refrigerator for 3 hours.
  • Step 4 - Serve with bulbs and a spoon for stirring.
  • Step 5 - Another way to serve is to peel and seed the melon, cut it into cubes and put them in a pitcher with ice and white wine.
