Ingredients
  • 4 large apples
  • ¼ cup (150 g) brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • ¼ cup chopped blond raisins
  • 4 small cubes of butter
  • ¾ cup (180 cc) boiling water
  • Cinnamon and chopped nuts for garnish
  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream to accompany.
Instructions
  • Step 1 - Preheat the oven to medium temperature (180°).
  • Step 2 - With a corer or small knife, hollow out the apples. Cut the filling into small cubes and set aside. Place the apples in a baking dish spread out enough so they don't bump into each other. Set aside.
  • Step 3 - In a bowl mix the apple filling with the sugar, cinnamon, walnuts and raisins. Fill the apples with the mixture. Place a cube of butter on each apple and pour the boiling water to the bottom of the bowl.
  • Step 4 - Bake 30 to 45 minutes or until apples are cooked but not falling apart. Remove apples from oven and drizzle with cooking juices. Let cool and serve apples with vanilla ice cream. Garnish with cinnamon.
