The country is nominated in 17 categories of the World Travel Awards. In 2023 it won the awards for 'Best Adventure Tourism Destination' and 'Most Romantic Destination' for the Atacama Desert.

Voting is open until Sunday, April 7 for the South American edition of the World Travel Awards, the well-known 'Oscars of Tourism' that have Chile nominated in 17 categories. With a legacy of recognitions obtained in previous years, our country seeks to revalidate the continental titles of 'Best Adventure Tourism Destination' and 'Most Romantic Destination' for the Atacama Desert, both achieved last year.

Chile aspires to consolidate its position as a leader in the region and continue to be recognized for its impressive nature, geographic diversity and a wide range of experiences that can be lived in the national territory, characteristics that have earned it the adventure tourism award consecutively since 2015.

For Verónica Pardo, Undersecretary of Tourism, "the natural wealth of our country is undoubtedly a key element when choosing us as a destination at the international level. Being nominated in 17 categories is a sample of the offer we have, so that both Chileans and foreigners can enjoy our territory, its culture, gastronomy, sports and nature, among many other options, in a responsible and safe manner. Having this showcase also means an important boost for the promotion of Chile as a unique destination at the international level".

Chile's geographic diversity allows foreign and domestic visitors to enjoy the adrenaline of extreme sports and the serenity of its natural landscapes, ideal for romantic getaways.

The national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, highlighted that "Chile is much more than a tourist destination. Once again, these nominations demonstrate our commitment to offer unique and exciting experiences for adventure lovers. We have an extensive coastline, the imposing Andes Mountains, unique landscapes in the Atacama Desert, an unmissable setting for extreme sports and outdoor activities. We are confident that, with the support of Chileans, we will continue to be one of the most exciting destinations in the world.
