Chile has begun to immunize children between 11 and six years of age against covid-19 in vaccination centers, according to a Health Ministry calendar and, as of September 27, will do so in schools throughout the country, subject to the authorization of parents or guardians.
When the virus is under control at the beginning of spring in most of the country, with less than 300 cases per day and a positivity that does not exceed 1%, the vaccination for the younger population has started, while waiting for new studies that authorize the needles to be pricked in children of five years of age or younger. Immunization is carried out with the two formulas approved in Chile for this age group, those of Sinovac and Pfizer.
