Our country is part of Fitur in Spain, a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading fair for inbound and outbound markets in Ibero-America.

Chile landed in Madrid to showcase its new products and tourist attractions to the European market at the International Tourism Fair, Fitur 2024, a unique space to promote brands and new products, as well as to learn about the latest trends and establish contacts that will generate new alliances.

"We are at Fitur 2024 to continue positioning Chile in the international market and, more specifically, in the Spanish market, which is one of the most important for our country." Verónica Pardo, Undersecretary of Tourism.

Today was the inauguration of the Chilean stand, an occasion in which the Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Pardo, the national director of Sernatur, Cristóbal Benítez, and the Chilean ambassador to Spain, Javier Velasco, took the opportunity to invite visitors to visit our country.

Undersecretary Pardo said that "we are at Fitur 2024 to continue positioning Chile in the international market and, more specifically, in the Spanish market, which is one of the most important for our country. We are at this year's fair with great news, as we have been named best green destination in the World Travel Awards and also one of the destinations to visit this 2024 by international media, such as The New York Times or Lonely Planet. Within the sector, we continue to make a strong commitment to international tourism fairs. It is worth mentioning the award we received at the WTM fair in London as the best meetings stand. At Fitur, we want to show the best of our country, its nature, landscapes and gastronomy".

Between today and Sunday, January 28, the country will highlight its wide range of tourism services and products and experiences in the five macro-zones of the country and with activations with product tastings that will accompany visitors with a pairing of typical foods of the country.

Cristóbal Benítez, national director of Sernatur, detailed that "this fair in Spain is the kick-off of our presentation to the world this year and we wanted to bring a bit of Chile to the old continent. In order for visitors to experience part of what we have in our country, we will have daily activations to showcase star Chilean products and we come accompanied by national companies that will exhibit tourist experiences for tourists, highlighting the northern zone, with the Atacama Desert; the central valleys, with wine tourism; the southern zone of lakes and volcanoes, an important focus of adventure tourism; Chilean Patagonia, a world-class nature destination; and Rapa Nui, this unique island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean".

During the fair, national tourism authorities will hold various meetings with authorities and international companies in the sector, in search of collaborative alliances to continue promoting Chile around the world.

Chile at Fitur 2024

Chile renovated its stand for this year's fairs and events. It is a minimalist, more sustainable and differentiating space, with a larger capacity for exhibitors and a more prominent bar for activations. This stand was based on the winning design at WTM London 2023 as the 'Best stand for doing business'.

Chile's pavilion at Fitur is 209 meters in size -20 more than at the last version of the World Travel Market in London- and favors simplicity and practicality of design with a modern and clean look. In this new staging, touches of our cultural roots stand out, such as butterflies made with Rari horsehair, Quinchamalí pottery, Mapuche ponchos and wicker lamps.

The regions of Coquimbo and O'Higgins will promote their destinations, together with 27 national tourism companies.
