The two organizations have signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen the international work they carry out. "We've been looking to form an alliance with a university, to get into the academic world, for a long time, so we're delighted to have achieved this with you," said the Executive Director of Imagen de Chile.
In its mission to continue promoting knowledge and understanding of Chile around the world, Imagen de Chile has signed a cooperation agreement with Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. This is Imagen de Chile's first alliance with a university.
"We're delighted to be signing this agreement with Fundación Imagen de Chile. We're aware of the great work they've been doing for more than a decade, positioning Chile as an attractive country in a number of fields; and certainly, the university world is tremendously attractive as part of this positioning," said the Rector of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Harald Beyer. "If you look at the two main rankings, in both the Times Higher Education and the QS lists Chile is the country with the best university system, in relative terms, in Latin America," he added.
Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez is the university with the highest proportion of foreign staff in Chile, and the third highest in Latin America. The number of students who choose to come here on international exchanges has also been increasing, with a corresponding increase in the number of UAI students who travel abroad to study. The university's researchers participate in research networks in more than 50 countries, and UAI has more than 250 agreements with institutions in at least 34 countries. Dr Beyer explained that UAI's strategic plan for 2020-2025 includes the objective of making it a global university.
The Executive Director of Imagen de Chile, Constanza Cea, commented on the scope of this agreement. "This is an opportunity for direct contact with the talent that exists in Chile in a wide range of areas of knowledge, which is an important source for building the country's image; it's very important that we work together to learn about these stories so we can tell them. We've been looking to form an alliance with a university, to get into the academic world, for a long time, so we're delighted to have achieved this with you," she explained. "We've been working for three years to present Chile from a different perspective. As an institution, our mission is to ensure that people around the world know about Chile and choose us, and we want the world to know us for our talent," she concluded.
