The Economist published its annual report on the state of democracy in the world, Democracy Index 2022, where Chile once again appears as one of the countries with the best index on the subject.
Due to the pandemic and the restrictions it implied for the population, Chile had not been considered in the ranking published by The Economist for the years 2020 - 2021. However, last year the country managed to return to the list along with France and Spain, positioning itself in 19th place with a score of 8.22. The study, which began in 2006, measures the level of democracy in 167 countries, covering almost the entire world population. To see the full report click here.
