Chile becomes the leader in Latin America in vaccination against COVID-19

After being among the countries most affected by COVID-19, Chile is now among the first in vaccinating its inhabitants against the virus.

More than 25% of its population has already received at least one dose, making the South American country of 19 million located on the Pacific coast the leader in Latin America, and placing it, globally, only behind Israel, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom. Its current situation is very different from the beginning of the pandemic, when Chile was criticized for its inability to trace and isolate infected people.
