Chile donates thousands of Chinese vaccines to Ecuador and Paraguay

Chile donated 20,000 Chinese CoronaVac vaccines to Ecuador and a similar amount of the same injection to Paraguay to be applied to health personnel on the front line of the battle against the coronavirus, officials from the three countries said.

Chilean Interior Minister Rodrigo Delgado confirmed on Saturday the information advanced hours earlier on Twitter by the President of Ecuador, Lenín Moreno.

"Bilateral relations bear great fruits! The Government of Chile delivered to Ecuador 20 thousand vaccines from (Chinese pharmaceutical company) SINOVAC for health personnel. This is a sign of solidarity between countries," tweeted Moreno, while thanking his Chilean peer Sebastián Piñera for sharing "the ideal of fighting for immunity in the region."
