Chilean tourism authorities report on the fires affecting the Valparaíso Region

As a result of the forest fires affecting a specific area of the Valparaíso Region, Chile's tourism sector regrets the tragedy that has the country in national mourning. In this scenario, Chilean authorities inform foreign tourists vacationing in Chile or planning to come to the country, that the main attractions of the country and its tourist offer in all regions of Chile are operational and ready to receive the visit of international travelers.

After the fires and as a preventive measure, the authorities have made a special call to tourists who are specifically in the city of Viña del Mar to be cautious and respect the indications of the national authority of the country. For this reason, those who are in the affected areas can activate the Emergency Roaming, in order to keep in touch and follow the instructions given by the central government.

Connectivity

Chilean authorities confirmed that connectivity with Chile is operating normally. Domestic flights to the north and south of Chile are operating as usual. However, airlines suggest passengers to check the status of their flights due to possible changes in weather conditions.

Meanwhile, for those entering the country through land borders, the recommendation is to always check the information available at www.pasosfronterizos.gov.cl, since the usual weather conditions in different areas may cause the closure of some crossings.
