Video of Imagen de Chile's international campaign wins at important festival of tourism productions

The tourism of our country won a new international recognition. The video of the Welcome to Adventure Tourism campaign, from 2020, won first place in the Tourism Destination category of the prestigious Terres Travel Festival, which highlights the productions made by countries to encourage travel to their destinations.

The national production awarded on this occasion was produced jointly by Sernatur, the Undersecretary of Tourism, Marca Chile and the Ministry of Sport. The video, produced as part of the Welcome to Adventure Tourism campaign, aimed to promote sports tourism in international countries prioritized by the institutions.

The Minister of Sports, Cecilia Pérez, emphasized that "sportsmen and women travel the world to play for Chile and are also great ambassadors. That is why it is a great joy to know that the Welcome to Adventure Tourism campaign, which they led with such pride, has obtained this important international recognition. As the Ministry of Sport, we are very grateful for the support of swimmer Bárbara Hernández, cyclist Paola Muñoz, bodyboarder Valentina Díaz, surfer Cristián Merello, pilot Francisco López and skier Henrik Von Appen".

For his part, José Luis Uriarte, Undersecretary of Tourism, said that "this award allows us to continue positioning ourselves as a tourist destination and to show the whole world the wonders that exist in our country, not only for the practice of sports tourism, but for all the experiences that Chile can offer. When we manage to overcome the pandemic that affects us today, experiences in open spaces, in contact with nature, will be one of the requirements of travelers and in this area Chile has a great potential that we will continue to promote".

Andrea Wolleter, national director of Sernatur, said that this recognition "fills us with pride. When talking about adventure tourism anywhere in the world, our country is among the first places, thanks to the goodness of our territory, and winning in this audiovisual festival keeps us in the minds of tourists who will return to live new experiences and adventures in Chile".
The executive director of the Fundación Imagen de Chile, Constanza Cea, emphasized that "this award reinforces the positioning of our country as one of the main adventure tourism destinations in the world. In Chile we have the best natural areas for sports and tourism.

Welcome to Adventure Tourism
The Welcome to Adventure Tourism campaign video was launched in January of this year with the objective of promoting our rich and diverse geography through sports. The production included great ambassadors of Chile, sportsmen who travel the world, who together with our unique nature managed to show the best of the country.

It is worth noting that Chile has been recognized four consecutive times as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination in the world and five times at the South American level at the World Travel Awards, an award for which it is also applying this year. For this reason, the video Welcome to Adventure Tourism sought a way to exploit this facet that makes us proud as a nation.
