Today is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. From Chile we invite more women to join this discipline, becoming a great contribution to create a better future for the planet.
"Women are here to move, to shake the spaces of knowledge, science, technology and mathematics are no exception. More women in science are necessary to improve and enrich our future, Chile's and the world's," says Carolina Agurto, PhD in astrophysics, from the Star Tres collective.

For her part, the geologist and meteorite expert, Millarca Valenzuela, invites all those girls and young women who are interested in science to dare to study careers related to this discipline. "You will be the next generation of Chilean scientists who will contribute to solve the problems that afflict us humans, such as climate change, Cheer up! We need many more minds, diverse minds, where there is undoubtedly the contribution of girls and women", she adds.
In Chile we have great women scientists, astronomers, geologists, mathematicians and engineers, among others, who are doing a great job looking for local solutions to big global questions. Working from the telescopes in the north of our country to the cold Antarctic, these specialists are making their contribution to a better future for all.
