By the final scene of "The Mole Agent ", the Chilean documentary directed by Maite Alberdi, some viewers may be left feeling as though they have been watching a science-fiction movie.
Perhaps the main reason for this is the honesty with which the characters who wander into this beautiful window onto life in a residential home for senior citizens in Chile talk about their lives. And how Alberdi's lens succeeds in capturing that brutal honesty.
Maybe that is also the reason why "The Mole Agent" is one of the five films that has been nominated for the best documentary feature award ahead of the Oscars, which will take place on Sunday, April 25.
