In 1987, Cecilia Bolocco was crowned Miss Universe in Singapore. The white dress she wore when she received the crown remains etched in the memory of Chile, whose people took to the streets to celebrate the victory of the first—and so far only—Chilean woman to win that title.
Following that milestone, she built one of the most acclaimed careers in Chilean television. She hosted shows both in Chile and abroad, won two Emmy Awards, ventured into acting, headed the Viña del Mar Festival, and developed new projects in costume design.
That is how Fundación Care was founded, dedicated to providing comprehensive support to patients and their families. To fund its work, it organized an exhibition featuring iconic pieces from her career, including the iconic Miss Universe gown, which found a new purpose by becoming a symbol of solidarity.
