The Director of Latinobarómetro, Marta Lagos, stated on Friday that "democracy is not at risk in Chile," in spite of the fact that Chileans are very dissatisfied with politicians and government performance and that "there exists an authoritarian threat."
Lagos presented a study in the Chilean capital which showed that support for democracy in Latin America fell to 48% this year, a decline of 15 points from 63% in 2010.
