The European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Space Agency (ESA) have started operating the Test-Bed 2 Telescope (TBT2), an instrument installed in Chile’s La Silla Observatory and will closely monitor asteroids that could pose a risk to the planet Earth.
ESA’s TBT2 will function together with its partner telescope in the northern hemisphere and will put to test new technology for a future network of telescopes, the European Southern Observatory informed in a press release.
