At the start of the pandemic, with the eyes of the world fixed on women leaders such as New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, or the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen, the belief spread that women cope better in crisis situations, taking earlier and more effective actions.

In Latin America, a further example of how women have contributed during this pandemic is the work of Paula Daza, Chile’s Public Health Undersecretary. She is the woman who has been at the forefront of one of the most successful COVID-19 management efforts in the world from day one.
