The seventeenth edition of the Santiago International Film Festival (SANFIC) will take off this Sunday. The festival seeks to make Chilean cinema shine within an extensive program of 86 films from around the world. For the second year running, they will only be shown online.
The competition is one of the region’s most important events in cinema and will run from August 15 to 22. The festival aims “to highlight the best of the world cinema panorama,” while extoling the work of Chilean directors, explained the festival’s coordinator, Loreto Araya, to Efe.
