Despite being located at the far end of the planet, Chile has developed numerous ways of staying connected with the world. What is certain is that in this difficult year, in which the economy and global trade have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Chile has been able to attract significant foreign investment, and that it even experienced a 14% increase in its FDI (foreign direct investment) during the first 7 months of the year, compared to the same period in 2019.

Chile gets ready for the technological challenges of the future with the announcement of a second data center from tech giant Huawei
Huawei is set to become the only company in Chile with two data centers, which is aligned with its commitment to support technological development and promote Chile as a digital hub in Latin America.
The data center will be located in the Metropolitan Region and could be operational by the end of this year.

Revolutionary Chilean foodtech company NotCo sets its sights on the US market after receiving US $85 million in foreign investment
Jeff Bezos from Amazon and Biz Stones, co-founder of Twitter, have invested in the finance package that will also be used to expand the company’s product range.
This innovative company is a licensee of the Brand Chile Usage Program, and already operates in Chile, Brazil and Argentina. It plans to expand into the Peruvian, Colombian, Mexican and US markets in 2021.

French geoinformation technology company TerraNIS arrives in Chile
The company uses geoinformation, particularly satellite images, to provide services related to agriculture and the environment. This technology can improve process efficiency while protecting the environment.
In Chile, Terranis provides services to agriculture using Pixagri, CropEO, Fertisat and Wago and to viticulture using Oenoview, and it has also diversified into forestry, land use, urban green spaces using Greencity, urban heat islands, urban and agricultural land planning and management.
