This is the first agreement that the institution has signed with a region, and seeks to join forces in building a regional brand that promotes foreign investment, tourism and the export of products.
Strengthening the regional image abroad and promoting the local offer is one of the objectives of the new agreement signed between the Corporación Regional de Desarrollo Productivo de Los Ríos (CRDP) and the Fundación Imagen de Chile (FICH), this Monday in Valdivia.
The agreement, the first of its kind in the country, seeks to establish a close collaboration between both institutions in order to promote the image of Los Ríos internationally, identifying opportunities to promote tourism, foreign investment and the export of regional products, making the work of the region visible, which also adds to the positive image of Chile in the world.
"If the region goes out to the world, Chile goes out to the world," said the executive director of Fundación Imagen de Chile, Rossana Dresdner. "This agreement is especially important for Imagen de Chile, because it initiates our regional work in a concrete way, and symbolizes the united effort to build together the image of Chile in the world, in all its diversity. The image of our country is built by all of us," she added.
In this regard, the regional governor of the Los Ríos region and president of the Board of Directors of the Regional Corporation for Productive Development, said that "this agreement that we have signed with the executive director of Fundación Imagen Chile is a great opportunity, which allows us to strengthen the work that our Regional Corporation for Productive Development has been promoting to internationalize our region in different aspects, together with the progress we have made with ProChile and especially with the signing of an agreement with InvestChile".
"This region needs to conduct in a better way a work that allows to achieve an identity, to show a sort of brand, as a synthesis of what we are, both in cultural aspect, in scenic beauty, but above all in the creativity of our products," added the regional authority.
Likewise, the manager of the Corporación Regional de Desarrollo Productivo, Silva Soto, said that they are working hard on the internationalization of the region and that "mandated by the Regional Government and the Regional Council of Los Ríos, the signing of this agreement that we are celebrating today is a tremendous opportunity to have those who know about these matters; it allows us to move forward quickly and on the right path".
"Now we have great allies to make these matters a reality: together with Marca Chile, which knows how to work on the issue of the region's image; InvestChile, which helps us to attract investment and ProChile, which sees the issue of promotion. This is only good news and good results, because we are associated with the best and we are happy with all the progress we have made so that our region can position itself abroad", he added.
The milestone is part of the internationalization effort of Los Ríos, which has been one of the strategic commitments of Governor Luis Cuvertino and which, among others, already has links with more than 15 embassies and the holding of the International Meeting, which included delegations from the United States, Argentina, Colombia, among others, and which will be held again this year. In addition, the region reactivated an agreement with the province of Yunnan that will allow it to participate in an official mission to the SIAL China food expo, ranked as one of the most important in the world.
The activity was attended by actors involved in the process of internationalization of the region, such as regional councilors, Corfo, Sernatur, ProChile, the Association of Municipalities of the Los Ríos Region, and the Lake Ranco Basin Corporation, among other guests.
Also present on the occasion were representatives of outstanding brands from Los Ríos, such as Apicoop, Festival Alerce Milenario, Ciervo Austral, Patrick Moore Music and the Valdivia International Film Festival (FICV). The companies are part of the almost 40 companies from the region that today carry the Marca Chile seal, a distinctive that seeks to promote the value of origin both in the domestic market and abroad, and which at the national level totals more than 1,400 brands.
