The Metropolitan Park of Santiago is one of the most emblematic tourist attractions of our country and has one of the most privileged views of the capital. In order to give it a unique seal loaded with local identity, the Fundación Imagen de Chile installed a corporeal with the logo of the Chile Brand in the "El Hundimiento" sector, a space that hopes to become an obligatory stop for tourists from the country and abroad.
It is a 3.15 meter high installation with the word "Chile" in red letters, accompanied by the characteristic stars of the brand. From this point there is a privileged panoramic view of the capital, where the Andes Mountains and the Costanera Center, the tallest building in South America, stand out, among other attractions.
"This alliance allows us to continue advancing in providing better spaces for our visitors. When Imagen de Chile approached us, it was clear to us that this new lookout had to be built with recycled materials and be universally accessible, providing a concept of sustainability with the environment, since it can be recycled and requires practically no maintenance," said Martín Andrade, director of Parquemet.
The surface of this space corresponds to 28.4 m2 built with an inclusive design, since it allows all people to access this place, through a ramp with a slope of less than 8%. The design was in charge of the Metropolitan Park of Santiago, with the support of professionals from the Fundación Imagen de Chile.
"The Metropolitan Park is one of the iconic places of Santiago. It is the green lung of the capital and one of the largest urban parks in the world. We want this viewpoint to become the postcard of Chile as in the great capitals, a must-see attraction for all those who visit our country once our borders reopen and also for all Chileans who after a long period of confinement are returning to enjoy the outdoors," said Constanza Cea, executive director of Imagen de Chile.
Competition
On the occasion, the director of Parquemet, Martín Andrade, and the executive director of Imagen de Chile, Constanza Cea, presented the contest where citizens can choose the name of the new viewpoint. "We wanted to involve the public in this milestone, so through our website(www.parquemet.cl) everyone can access the contest to vote among five options," said Martin Andrade, director of Parquemet.
