The vaccination process against covid-19 reached the Chilean Antarctic, where members of the Armed Forces, the Antarctic Institute (Inach) and the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics deployed in the area received the first dose, official sources reported on Tuesday.
The doses, about 100 of them, all from the Chinese laboratory Sinovac, entered the Antarctic territory last Saturday and during Sunday morning, Chilean Air Force personnel deployed at the President Eduardo Frei Montalva Antarctic Air Base, supported by their Navy counterparts, carried out the inoculation process.
